This year, I broke free from the confines of suburban Anchorage to change jobs, visit friends, and travel with family. International travel was off the table this year, proving to be a much more difficult obstacle to overcome than it used to be.
I made time for a ton of road trips. I rode the rails for days at a time, from Seattle to Los Angeles to San Antonio to Chicago — all in coach. I spent a little quality time on the water. I met tons of great people, expanded my horizons, and all in all, had a fantastic year.
