A goal for 2024, unusually, was to stay close to home. To spend less time on airplanes and time on the ground. You may look at the map below and say, “but Andrew, you seem to have traveled extensively around the Western United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, then flew all the way to Australia,” and that is true. But when these opportunities present themselves, one must take advantage.
Despite this, I still spent a lot of time on the ground this year. Several momentous road trips including Seattle to Tofino, Seattle to Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Denver to Salt Lake City kept me happily behind the wheel for, cumulatively, a couple weeks.
Looking at the map, the theme of the year might be the Pacific Ocean — I spent the vast majority of the year on all sides of it, but rarely more than a few miles away. Looking at the photos, the theme might be vehicles. Toys. Cars, trucks, boats, and embracing the fun I can have locally, around Seattle.
As always, a map of everywhere I was in 2024 is below, followed by a few photos from the year in chronological order.
